Mill Haven Foods prioritizes quality above all else on the 40 million pounds we produce annually. We are NSF Certified, Kosher Certified by the Orthodox Union (OU), GMP Compliant, and can work with programs such as Informed Choice to ensure products are free from banned substances such as those on the WADA list. Additionally, many of our products can be certified Gluten Free by the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) and their certification body the Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO).
Quality Control Guidelines
We only source from pre-qualified vendors that have undergone a full documentation review and qualification process. As a part of this process, all ingredient vendors are required to be audited by a third party to verify their food safety systems and must share the results of this audit with Mill Haven Foods. As outlined in our vendor approval program all ingredients and ingredient suppliers must be re-qualified on an annual basis. At times Quality Assurance Team will visit production facilities to verify the documentation that was reviewed at Mill Haven Foods. Upon receipt, each lot of every ingredient is tested for purity and identity before it is used in production. These tests are done via 3rd part lab to ensure no bias.
Materials are segregated in our 77,000 square foot warehouse in accordance with our allergen control protocol to limit cross contamination.
Labels are stored under locked key with restricted access to guarantee security.
Although we do work with many 3rd party labs to guarantee no bias we do have a state of the art lab that is used internally to test fat, protein, moisture, Aerobic Plate Count, yeast and mold, and more. Additionally, we have the ability to partner with our third party lab to perform testing that customers request that do not fall under the standard testing that we perform.
